We are pleased to invite you to the colloquium “Cooperation in Economic Games: The Case of Public Goods”, which will be given by the outstanding academic Felipe Muñoz-Rubke, PhD in Cognitive Science and Neuroscience from Indiana University, and with a solid academic background in applied statistics and child and adolescent clinical psychology.
The provision of a public good requires the contribution to a common fund by multiple actors. Once generated, all agents have access to the public good, regardless of whether or not they have contributed to its generation. In a context in which agents are free to decide whether they want to cooperate or not, a social dilemma arises due to the tension between the search for social benefit and individual benefit. In this presentation, we will review some of the factors that promote cooperation between people in the context of the public goods game. Subsequently, I will present evidence in favor of the use of default strategies for the promotion of cooperation.
