A greater number of applicants and high entrance scores stand out in this new 2023 admission process of the new students of our House of Studies.

A 300% increase in applications compared to the previous year reached our University in this new 2023 admission process.

“We are very happy because we tripled the number of applications. The careers are looking forward to receiving their future students,” said the Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Studies, Paula Manríquez Novoa, who specified that in total there were more than 16 thousand effective applications in this admission process.

Among the careers with the greatest increase in demand this year, engineering was registered with 40% and Pedagogy careers, which managed to increase the number of applicants by 100% compared to 2022.

“We are a regional, state university and we want to be a contribution to Chilean education, so we are very happy that young people who want to train as teachers stay here,” said the vice-chancellor.

The university authority highlighted the important contribution of the institution to the decentralization of higher education. “About 74% of the young people who enroll at UTalca are from Maule and study here. Our commitment has always been that local talents stay in the region and contribute to its development,” he said.

Manríquez also highlighted that our House of Studies attracted a large percentage of young people from this territory with the highest scores obtained in the Higher Education Access Test (PAES).

“25% of the talented students in the region opted and stayed at the University of Talca, and now we are waiting for them to come and enroll. Overall, the scores are very good, and our selected students register a significant increase compared to last year,” he said.
